Welcome to the London Home of Aboriginal Art

Rebecca Hossack
As part of The Art Society's series of online lectures, Rebecca Hossack gives a personal introduction to the history of Aboriginal Art by discussing some of the pictures in her own collection. She shares stories about Albert Namatjira, Clifford Possum & Emily Kame Kngwarreye - and describes her encounters with many of the leading figures in the Desert Painting Movement, which began at Papunya in the early 1970s.

In her talk Rebecca Hossack provides a vivid account of the spread and development of the movement. Its cultural origins in the distant past and its ongoing importance in the present.
