Fitzrovia Arts Festival

Community Event

Over the past 30 years, commitment to community has remained at the very heart of the Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery's activities.

We value beauty - in the art that we exhibit - but also in our environment. In 2000 Rebecca Hossack protested the council removing trees in Fitzrovia by planting a floral display named Herb the Gumtree in a rubbish skip. Then, in 2007, Hossack ran the New York Marathon to raise £20,000 to plant trees in Central London. As a result, there are now 70 wonderful mature silver birches in the streets of Fitzrovia. These are just a few examples of the gallery's commitment to bringing people together to support important issues, empowering communities and making our local environment more green, creative and vibrant.

Our most recent community event is the Fitzrovia Arts Festival, taking place from Sunday 20 June to Saturday 26 June 2021. Now going into its fifth year, the Fitzrovia Arts Festival celebrates Fitzrovia’s rich and diverse artistic past. It is the first and only community music festival to honour the artistic heritage of bohemian Fitzrovia together with the contemporary diversity that thrives in the area today.

We have been working with the talented musicians and artists of Fitzrovia to produce a wonderful programme of concerts, talks, walks and fitness events. All events are free (just come along) and social distancing regulations will be respected to create a safe environment. We hope to see you there!
