Glyphs : G. W. Bot
Current exhibition
Overview
The Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery presents Glyphs, a selection of works by Australian artist G.W. Bot, whose art explores humanity’s deep and spiritual connection with nature, drawing on both the landscape and Indigenous artistic traditions. This display at the Billy Reid, West Village marks Rebecca Hossack Gallery’s long-term partnership with award-winning American fashion designer Billy Reid.
Through a language of ‘glyphs' — visual forms distilled from thousands of sketches of trees, rocks, plants, and water — Bot captures the uniqueness of every natural form. Each print becomes a portrait of the landscape, a visual poem that celebrates life and invites shared reflection.
Engaging in printmaking, painting, sculpture, and graphic art, G.W. Bot has showcased her work extensively both nationally and internationally. She has presented over 50 solo exhibitions in various cities such as Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, London, Paris, New York, and Los Angeles. She is the recipient of numerous commissions and has been awarded residencies in Europe, Asia and Australia. Her work is held in many galleries, including the National Gallery of Australia, the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
