Summer on Mott Street: Group Show, NYC

22 July - 28 August 2016
Overview

The Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery on Mott Street presents a group exhibition of international artists to celebrate the Summer.

New Zealander Rob Tucker will be represented by his oil and resin paintings, joined by Esther Nienhuis' Saudade series - oil on canvas works which seek to negotiate the metaphorical boundary that isolates the here-and-now from other realities – past, future or imaginary.

In addition, Barbara Macfarlane will be showing her Midtown grids on handmade cotton rag khadi paper. London printmaker Rose Blake will present her hand-finished museum-scapes in collage, gouache and sign-writer's polymer, which will be complemented by the layered, painterly works of Scottish painter Alasdair Wallace.

Also on show will be hand-finished prints of New York from draughtsman Laura Jordan, as well as London printmaker Phil Shaw's New York subway series.  The display will also include sculpture by Toronto-based Ross Bonfanti, ahead of his solo exhibition at the Charlotte Street gallery in London in October 2016.
