A conversation between author, photographer, and activist Juno Gemes and Michael Aird, Director of the University of Queensland Anthropology Museum.
Photographer and social justice activist Juno Gemes has spent much of her long career documenting the lives and struggles of First Nations people. This significant book brings together a powerful collection of over 220 photographs, blending Gemes’ ongoing work with her unique living archive. It represents the culmination of a career dedicated to witnessing and advocating for change — a visual record of the First Nations people's struggle for justice over the past fifty years in Australia. The book provides historical context for the Movement leading up to the Voice referendum of late 2023.
